It's been a while since I have updated my blog as it was quite hectic these past few weeks with new activity, orders and getting to know new and old candidates. The recent crash at the NY stock market, further strengthening of the yen and decrease in the number of jobs for this year's new grads shouldn't keep up us awake at night but certainly make us wake up early in the morning. These are just one of the indicators that legions of analysts and economists are now writing about and all eyes are focusing on Europe, China and the disappointing US jobs report.
One thing is for sure is that international firms are starting to hire again but remain cautious and the time to complete a typical search/placement has been extended. Jobseekers with IT skills, finance/accounting experience, good track records and advanced language abilities are also having a challenging time but have shorter periods in between jobs. At the moment, IT, pharma/medical and consumer clients are showing increased demand for specialists which explains the new surge we are experiencing.
So, feel free to contact us and let us know how you are doing, it would be great to hear from you.
Have a great weekend.
